30 Day Proverbs Challenge: Day 1
Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. In Day 1 of the 30 day Proverbs Challenge the Lord, Jesus Christ led me to Proverbs chapter 9. A fresh perspective on what it is to be a woman of wisdom versus a woman of folly. Today I was rebuked in how I have handled relationships in my life foolishly. I now understand the first foundation of my seven pillars of wisdom: Fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. The Lord has challenged me in the process of becoming the woman of God he has always called me to be. Being an athlete, a challenge is a great way to get me inspired and motivated. I thank God that he communicates to you in the best possible way to get results because he "knows" you. Once you embrace and understand that Gos does not bring pain or failure but success and wisdom you learn to take correction with maturity. God has called me into maturity in this season and I am so grateful that he is spending his time on me. What do you need help with? Have you brought it to Jesus? Where do you need to improve and how can you improve?
This is what I have been praying for this month. He answers if you spend time with him daily and open your ears to hear and hearts to truth. God revealed to me that I am in a season of "becoming," I am learning to apply Proverbs 3:5-6 which says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. This is a remembrance that this season will not be me but to let God lead and I cast out the spirit of reliance, pride and fear(anxiety). I pray over these things in my life daily especially when they appear daily. I am working on praying and asking Jesus "to take the wheel" and change my desires and heart to seek you first.
The Lord also revealed to me the importance of having non negotiable's in my life to encourage discipline and maturity. The study of Proverbs is an answered prayer towards wisdom and understanding. Some of us do not have the best leaders, mentors or parents in life but that is no excuse when you have a Heavenly Father who guarantees all things good in your life. You must take up your cross daily and as Jesus instructed us to do in Matthew 16:24-25 "Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." I am learning how to completely surrender to God's way in my life. God is teaching me wisdom and understanding in this season.
Day 1 of my Proverbs challenge is in Proverbs 9 where the Lord revealed to me that I am in a season of building my foundation. The Lord has been leading me to the number seven and I chose to start my challenge on Proverbs 9:1 which says " Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars" God has called me to form seven pillars, or seven non negotiables. After reading Proverbs 9 I now know what my first non negotiable, my first pillar, in Briana Jordans foundation of wisdom. The number 1 pillar and non negotiable is to fear the Lord. In Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." I am in a place where I see my faults and failures but I am encouraged in giving those things to the Lord. I am still working on casting out insecurity and pride in my life because you cannot build a foundation on folly or with foolish people.
As I mentioned above this is a. season of developing my foundations and the Lord revealed to me where I was falling short. In Proverbs 9:5-9 Solomon gives a slight rebuke and correction. He says “Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. 6 Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”7 Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.
8 Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning." This passage helped explain my relationship errors in life and how I was living in pride. This explains how people were so offended by my words and advice before. I was speaking out of alignment and not letting the Holy Spirit guide my words and actions.
Now that I am in understanding my transition to be set apart as a daughter of God. I realize that I have been extremely stubborn and deceitful because I was not addressing my own lack of wisdom. Proverbs 9:7 says " stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant," I realized that I have been naive. I have fallen to my own foolishness because I was unable to see the allure of sin and obey God's commands in my life. Especially when the allure of sin tends to be choosing the worlds ways. You may not see how you are living wrong because you are comparing yourself to other sinners instead of the holy one. We must fall out of comparison and walk with the Lord daily because you have been called out of sin and into sanctification as an ambassador of Christ. Your disobedience and mixture will only cause destruction and death.
As an ex bartender and socialite you will justify bringing others into a world of FUN but you are really just leading them to sin. I had to renounce yoga because of my lack of knowledge and fear of the Lord. I had to walk away from engagements because I was building on a faulty foundation of fornication. You cannot lead when you are not the example of leadership and Christ-like behavior. You need to repent immediately and talk to Jesus about how to handle temptation and sin. He will give you wisdom and instruct you the right way because "man" will always fail. You are called to wisdom and therefore called to trust God to fight your battles internally and externally. We are called to rebuke, instruct and teach. Take your concerns into prayer and rebuke in this manner mentioned in Psalms 141:5 "Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness; let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers."

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
