30 Day Proverbs Challenge: Day 13

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. My struggle in life has been taking correction. So I write today to encourage you to not run away from discipline because now that I am a mother. I understand that God disciplines us because he loves us and wants us to stay in goodness. The Lord led me to Hosea where the Israelites fell away from Gods way and into the worlds way. The nook of Hosea also deals with abandonment and rejection which can often be the root of our hearts sickness and deceit. In Jeremiah 17:9-10 says "“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” Is your heart sick?

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. My struggle in life has been taking correction. So I write today to encourage you to not run away from discipline because now that I am a mother. I understand that God disciplines us because he loves us and wants us to stay in goodness. The Lord led me to Hosea where the Israelites fell away from Gods way and into the worlds way. The nook of Hosea also deals with abandonment and rejection which can often be the root of our hearts sickness and deceit. In Jeremiah 17:9-10 says "“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things,
and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?
But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” Is your heart sick?

This was a harsh truth I had to embrace because I was walking in disobedience I caused my own affliction because I did not guard my heart. My kindness was taken for weakness and my free spirit was often in oppression. The damage done to my heart led to a life of brokenness, bitterness and selfishness. I had to face the facts and consequences that comes with turning away from God. There is always hope in the Lord, Jesus Christ. In Proverbs 21: 1-2 " The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord;
he guides it wherever he pleases. People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart," this filled me with hope. My intentions were not always bad, my love was pure and my emotions filled with joy.

The ways of the world caused me to get caught up in idolatry, sexual immorality and rejecting the knowledge of God. I was lost until I rededicated my life to God and got baptized. God led me to Hosea to teach me discipline and correction, he also showed me grace and mercy. He chose to marry me and lured me back into his arms so that I can understand real love and understand my true value to this world and trust in him wholeheartedly. I was in "the congregation of the dead" found in Proverbs 21:15-17 which says "Justice is a joy to the godly, but it terrifies evildoers.The person who strays from common sense will end up in the company of the dead. Those who love pleasure become poor; those who love wine and luxury will never be rich. " Thank you Lord for never giving up on me, for never abandoning me, for never rejecting me but choosing me to help build the kingdom on earth.

Although my friends, family and lovers often abandoned and betrayed me I know that it was all for my transformation. Stay encouraged and understand the role you play in taking responsibility for your poor decisions and lack of understanding. Also embrace that your pain is part of the refinement. Sometimes we have to learn to be like Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego who walked in the fire and walked out undamaged. You are undamaged right now but you have to be available to be used by your Creator, God, the one and only who knows you the best and loves you unconditionally always and forever. This is confirmed in Proverbs 21:30 "No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord." Learn from me and release all pride and rebellion and use your stubbornness for the Lord, Jesus Christ.
