30 Day Proverbs Challenge: Day 27
Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. Lets talk a little about the current generation of women, men and homosexuality. Growing up in the 90's I still had no idea what "gay" was other than an old term for "happy" in the old assigned literary texts in middle school. We live in a world full of adultery just look at the distraction of choice: same-sex, open marriage, baby daddy/ baby momma are okay now, and polygamy being normalized. It is easy to get caught up in the ways of the world and think that certain things are okay due to the normalization that society has put on sexual promiscuity, lust and perversion. Have you normalized lust, homosexuality and perversion? Are you a product of an over sexualized culture and the indoctrination of the world? My truth is yes! I was over sexualized, abused and a result of a very lustful culture.

Today we live in a world where I am shielding my children's eyes from cocomelon and every other TV show/ movie. We live in a world full of adultery just look up the declining marriage rates due to the easy access of technology and the distraction of choice. It is easy to get caught up in the ways of the world and think that certain things are okay due to the normalization that society has put on sexual promiscuity and perversion. Have you normalized lust and perversion? Are you a product of an over sexualized culture and the indoctrination of the world?
My truth is "yes" I was over sexualized and a result part of a very lustful culture. I grew up in the time of MTV, BET, and BET after dark. Along with the growth of downloading music and the accessibility to porn, R&B/ Hip Hop, and explicit messages became very prevalent in the 90's. I grew up in a generation of adultery and I am a product of divorce. Now that I look back on my high school days and college days I realized that I was completely under indoctrination and not receiving therapy to process the trauma I had experienced. everyone can probably agree that in the 90's the surge of independent woman and justifying cheating with entertainment was normalized. However, God gives us specific advice against the adulterous woman in Proverbs 5:3-4 "For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; 4 but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword." We wonder why nobody values marriage and women are becoming masculine while the men are becoming feminine.
Now that I am a parent I see what it is like to be on the other side and how much easier the distractions of culture, career and entertainment effects your children. the amount of access that perversion has over our children is ridiculous. Like, I cannot even turn on coco melon without being disturbed by a message or perversion sneaking in. We are in spiritual warfare and as a parent I now show my parents grace and ask the Lord how to do it because only God can use us to change the world to make it a better place. I held so much resentment and anger towards my parents until I became a parent. I understand that the truth is found in Proverbs 5:1-2 "My son, pay attention to my wisdom, turn your ear to my words of insight, 2 that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge." I think the only lesson that I learned from my parents is that you cannot parent without God. I wish my parents had God at the center of their marriage and in their parenting. I would've respected them more now if they led me to God's word more often instead of telling me what they think is best.
As we all know, when your parents discipline you and try and tell you something my ears immediately become deaf. I am watching and observing all their failures to determine what I am not going to do and to heal and determine how its effected me so that I can be a better mother and parent. Because I was angry at my parents I chose rebellion at all costs and it led me to behave like the woman mentioned in Proverbs 5:6 "She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it." I chose my comfort in sin and debauchery because i lacked wisdom and inner healing. Maybe you can relate to that or maybe you can't. The point is we all have a past and made mistakes in life. In writing these sermonettes my only hope is that you feel inspired to turn your hearts to the Lord. As a woman of God now inspired to find wisdom and understanding I can share that women are called to be a Proverbs 31 woman. We cannot change or control others, only God can change people.
In Proverbs 5: 21-23 it states " For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths. 22 The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them; the cords of their sins hold them fast. 23 For lack of discipline they will die, led astray by their own great folly. As a woman of God I now realize I have nothing to prove to man, my parents or my friends. I am who God has made me to be first and I will continue to walk in his will for my life. God made you and your parents so why wouldn't you connect to the true source. The devil lives to scheme: to steal, kill and destroy. We must have wisdom in this earth to pass the test and fight the battle properly with prayer. Your must go through a process of unlearning all the lies the enemy has told you and indoctrinated you with. God is with you and the overcoming of your emotions into discernment and wisdom.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
