30 Day Proverbs Challenge: Day 29

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. Ask and ye shall receive! God revealed to me that I needed to pray for wisdom and understanding as I rebuild my foundation in Christ. I kept choosing Baal, through my intellect, self- reliance and my own accomplishments and pride. The truth is we cannot do anything without God. period. Everything we put above God is an idol. What are some idols you are struggling with?

As the daughter of a professional athlete and the eldest of siblings there is a quite expectation of excellence. I am grateful for the high standards and expectations in my life but I lost my worthiness trying to prove myself. The constant struggle of people pleasing is exhausting and you will never find peace or joy in all that you have accomplished. However, I now understand it was all part of Gods plan to get me to surrender to His way. As I reclaim my heritage and bloodline as an ambassador of Christ, I now have a firm foundation in truth. In Proverbs 8:5 he explains what we should do "You who are simple, gain prudence;
you who are foolish, set your hearts on it." Gods instructions are simple, seek first the kingdom and his righteousness. God has been reminding me to surrender willingly like Mary, ready to serve and obey his word. My personality is like a Martha where you are constantly "doing" in hopes that you are seen.

Therefore I overcompensated in pride, self- reliance and knowledge because the root issue was I wasn't being seen or heard. God has reminded me to work in silence and to finish what I start because I am now working for him in freedom from others expectations. Lets start with what my name actually means Briana actually means "noble" so when I read Proverbs 8: 16-17 "by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth. 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me." I was reminded that I was God's perfect creation and I had fallen short looking within instead of up to my Heavenly Father. He gave me purpose and a career that provides the best benefits package ever....salvation. In Proverbs 8 Solomon reminds us of God's sovereignty and intellect surpasses our own. Wisdom is when we hear the truth, share the truth and seek the truth daily.

Many times we idolize money, choosing our career, degrees and business objectives. We put money and status over our relationship with God at least, I did. The devils schemes over the economy, doubt and division was sewn into my understanding of money and wealth. This chapter helped me delete and reprogram my mind around wealth and prosperity. In Proverbs 8:20-21 "I walk in the way of righteousness,
along the paths of justice, 21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full." This is a reminder that as an ambassador of Christ and daughter of God my benefits package includes a trust filled with abundance if we choose to seek, trust and obey Jesus Christ. Most of us fall into listening and following those who are rooted in deception and deceit.

Today, I forgive myself for choosing to listen to the worlds indoctrination and the lies the devil told me all my life. Start with forgiving yourself and repent for the old you but walk in your spiritual authority and your new holy position with confidence. Spend time learning who God is and what your new identity in Christ, your new job position and description entails. Proverbs 8: 8-11 confirms how to carry out the job with excellence "All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. 9 To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge. 10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, 11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her." I thank you Lord for answering my prayers, protecting me and covering me for the calling you have always saved just for me.

When we repent for all of the idols we worshipped, all of the things we put above God we are walking in maturity and acknowledging how good Gods grace is. We are thanking him in humility and choosing to trust and read the Word of God for guidance moving forward. I am choosing a relationship with the Lord before anything else in my life. I am not that saying that I am perfect but i will be a praying whore who is saved and trusting in the Lord. If you are reading this blog today, God loves you! Forgive yourself and ask for forgiveness with repentance and continue to seek him first daily. Proverbs 8:32-36 says it perfectly " “Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. 34 Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. 35 For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord. 36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.” Be your own body in Christ!
