Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. Today, I keep thinking about "looking in the mirror." When we look in the mirror we are looking at ourselves but scientifically we are looking at our opposite. As I look in the mirror today, I can get stuck in the "why" and I can stay in victimhood. Instead I can learn wisdom and how to get through my challenges with intention and expectation to be a victor of my circumstances. Often times in life we are not looking at the right version of ourselves in the mirror. We are often living in the world and prideful which always results in shame and transgression.
Proverbs 11:2-3 " When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity."
This was a reminder that my experiences and current version of self is not final. I am not a victim but a victor but I am growing in maturity and wisdom. Today, I choose to look in the mirror as an overcomer and victor because I am choosing my new intention. I am choosing to shift my perspective where I see my reflection for the fact, an opposite reflection of ourselves. Today, I choose to walk in humility, integrity and flee from all lies that once effected how I saw myself in the mirror.
Now when I look in the mirror I am no longer misguided and misaligned by the circumstances and situations. Instead I choose to be surrounded by the Holy Spirit, the Great Counselor, prayer and Gods Word. I failed in life many times because I had to understand the value and importance of the right community. In Proverbs 11:14 Solomon says " Where no counsel is, the people fall; but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety." We find safety in Gods Word and learn to trust Gods Word and embrace the true identity as a daughter of God.
I wouldn't be here if I didn't embrace the evil desires, the devils lies and pain that caused me to make poor decisions. Now that I can truly understand my own truth in the Lord, Jesus Christ (Yeshua). Lets read in Proverbs 11: 23 which states "The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath," now I process where my anger, annoyance and unfair treatment manifested in my relationships and life. I let wicked people and situations shape my perception on all situations instead of healing. Taylor Welch hit it on the head today when he said "dealing with your shit is not healing from your shit" and that explained the relationship with my soul (mind, will & emotions) perfectly.
Thank you Lord for never abandoning me but loving me unconditionally. Thank you Lord that you are the only righteous judge and the only true witness to my life. Thank you for seeing me for who I really am even when my reflection in the mirror didn't match. I now understand my indentity in Christ today and my purpose in this world. Thank you for encouraging me gently by explaining the importance of wisdom, righteousness and the fear of the Lord. The verse that I want to share for Day 3 is Proverbs 11: 30-31
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
And he who wins souls is wise.
31 If the righteous will be recompensed on the earth,
How much more the ungodly and the sinner.
