Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. This blog will help you understand why God bings us to humility. God gives us dominion! We have the authority and the ability to build nations and fortresses. Wealth is not immediate nor is it contentment but it is endurance. What are you willing to build for the Lord? The truth is... I was walking in selfishness and the mindset of scarcity. The facts are we are abundance but it does not come in the way that most of us are taught wealth. Proverbs 16:16 states clearly " How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver!" I was striving for the wrong things I was misguided, misinterpreted and misunderstood.
This morning God confirmed that my new direction in life is correct. Although I want wealth to help others and take care of my family I had to realize I was lacking wisdom and understanding. God speaks through his word and he led me to the dream of Solomon when the Lord visited him and asked him what he wanted. Solomon responded not with material things but he responded I Kings 3:9 " Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?" This was confirmation that God hears me and is encouraging me to keep moving forward with the revelation and vision he has provided.
The relationship with the Lord, our Jehovah Jireh, is truly the most amazing gift and the best partner you can ask for. I specifically prayed for God to reveal wisdom and understanding which brought me to this Proverbs challenge in the first place. Now God has me reading about one of the wisest leaders and kings from the bloodline of David. Ask and ye shall receive, I was guided by the repentance of laziness and disobedience that has caused my own struggle in life. When you are honest with yourself you allow God to move on your behalf. I no longer want to lead others wrongly but I want to be able to lead the right way and how God has called me to lead.
In Proverbs 16:21-22 Solomon states " The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive. Discretion is a life-giving fountain to those who possess it, but discipline is wasted on fools. I had to realize the insidiousness of the enemy, Satan, who attacks our minds. The mind is the battlefield and we must learn to fight in the spiritual as he instructs us to in the Lord's prayer. As in heaven and on earth because we are not always fighting flesh and blood and the enemy has used my desperation and poverty to open up doors to him. Repent for greed, laziness and disobedience and for allowing your mind to fall weak to God's principles in life.
I had to realize that I am not on the wrong track when it comes to being self sufficient and for wanting to be my own boss. I refuse to live in bondage and injustice that is what my ancestors taught me. However, I have to also learn that God will always provide, as he also did for my ancestors. I chose to be a backslider to be moved by external influences "People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed." It is not my will but Gods will and I am just a vessel to be used for God's glory. What a privilege and honor it is to understand this wisdom and understanding that God has placed on my heart. I no longer walk in shame and ego but share my testimony of struggles due to my own pride.
