MY STORY: MY JESUS YEAR

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on a personal journey with repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. We all have a fear. We tend to create fear because we fail to live in the present. The past can bring shame and deception that causes us to fear. Another definition of fear could be, the lack of trusting God. We can also have fear about the future which often manifests as anxiety, basically fear again. Fear can also be a perversion of Godly faith, the opposite of what God has for you. Every first three days of the month I like to fast and recenter my faith and address any open doors and trust that Holy Spirit will reveal it to you. I am struggling with trusting myself and the Lord due to my own failures and self-reliance.

So today I have chosen to speak God's word over and over to increase my knowledge and offense against fear. I chose Proverbs 3:5-6 which says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. I am struggling more than ever on my fast today and its so frustrating! However, I am thankful that God is revealing in me what needs prayer and what needs to be repented for. Don't be deceived by becoming a Christian and that life is easy. When you give your life to Christ you are a threat to the devil and you become a target.

I share this not to discourage you but empower you through my own struggle to stay holy, sanctified and trust in the Lord. As Christians we are called to be set apart but the devil will often use the idols of your heart to defeat you. So you must stay diligent, obedient and full of faith like David. The enemy knows he will lose if he creates a narrative of defeat. The devil cannot win unless you GIVE UP! You cannot run away from the challenge but you must challenge yourself to remain aligned to your identity in Christ.

The resistance is a beautiful training for your heart, soul and faith. Take the sin/obstacle in front of you and use it as an opportunity to increase your prayer and devotion to the Lord. We are at war! We have to acknowledge that we are fighting or own ignorance and flesh. That is not meant to scare you but to encourage you to prepare and learn winning strategy which is God's Word. Last night, I was at school of warrior, a course taught at my church, and they spoke about the power of God's Word being meant for deliverance and salvation.

The beauty of being in community and in a church is that you receive confirmation and encouragement through like minded individuals. So we reviewed in depth Psalms 119 verses 1-4 which says "Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. 2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—3 they do no wrong but follow his ways. 4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed". There a re a few words I would like to define blessed means "put in position by God, appointed, chosen", now replace the verses with the other definition. This is what we should be striving for in the body of Christ, in our career, in our family.

Personally, I am learning how to grow up and become mature in my faith. I was a Christian with no guidance because I hadn't read the word. I was living in the gray because I had fallen to other idols; “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." (Matthew 6:24) Therefore, this Psalm reminded me that we are called to be set apart. We must be the light, the motivation and the example of Christ wherever we go. You cannot be stuck in people pleasing and double mindedness and follow God. You have to live your life and choose to listen to the Lord over all other voices and distractions of the world. It is not easy but we must strive to be blessed.

The blessing prescription consists of obedience to God's Word and Law 100%. You cannot carry fear but must walk in your authority and faith whole heartedly. WE must live in meditation, dedication and purity like David shows us in Psalm 119 if we want to achieve maturity in our faith. I now understand the importance of building the kingdom within us so we can build the kingdom on earth. The game of life is warfare and we need to play all of our players in the game to overcome fear and stay sanctified.
