The Fun Spot
Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. Today, I share a revelation that we can not run from our calling as sons and daughters of God. God is revealing his nature and the plans he has for us if we understand his plan is always what is best for us. We often fall into going back to the Fun Spot because thats where we feel comfortable and in control. What is God asking you to do? Why are you running away from what God has called you to do?

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. Today, I share a revelation that we can not run from our calling as sons and daughters of God. God is revealing his nature and the plans he has for us if we understand his plan is always what is best for us. We often fall into going back to the Fun Spot because thats where we feel comfortable and in control. What is God asking you to do? Why are you running away from what God has called you to do? I have been running away from leadership and thriving in rebellion for a long time. I have been called to lead time after time but I never found joy nor have I ever wanted the attention and pressure that comes with leadership.
However, God constantly reminds me that I am his and that I have to rely and trust in him wholeheartedly. I often need a POW POW to put me back on track because my nature is stubborn and rebellious. I have always wanted to do things MY WAY or I have often settled for the easy way. I didn't plan to go to prom but I was nominated as a possible queen therefore I had to attend and choose someone to go with. I often didn't want to hurt anyones feelings so I would plan the after party and rather not go then make a DECISION. I would never voice that I wanted to be captain but I always ended up being chosen. I was always running away from RESPONSIBILITY. Now I understand what God is calling me to do and I cannot run nor will I succeed in my own way!
God calls us to MATURITY when you are on this journey of transformation with Christ. The Lord led me to catch up in my Bible reading this morning and I came across the story of Saul and how he was appointed king. He was appointed king because the people felt and asked for a king. Saul never wanted to be king but God was fulfilling the desires of his people who had asked for another king because Samuel was old. Read I Samuel chapters 8-10 to understand how God will give you what you want but his plan will always prevail. The story of Saul reminded me of me so much at this moment because he thought of himself so small, he was a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel. Yet he would become one of the greatest warriors and rulers of Israel.
What also stuck out to me is that you cannot know Gods plan for you or you would not seek him daily. You would not be obedient and follow his commands if he gave you everything you asked. You would not have the character to handle all that God has for you. The irony that Saul was just trying to find donkeys he had lost and return home. Yet he found a seer named Samuel who was waiting for him to arrive to fulfill the Lords will and plan. Saul had no idea but Samuel and the Lord knew what he would become and the desires of his heart. God reminded me this morning to trust in his way and surround myself with his people and to be obedient to his calling on my life. Saul had finally fulfilled Gods prophecy and God changed him into the man he was called to be " As Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed Saul's heart, and all these signs were fulfilled that day" in I Samuel 10:9. Trust in the Lord's ability to change your heart and to trust in the process of "becoming" a daughter of God.
God has already revealed to me that I am a "backsliding heifer" and that is why I started this blog to remind myself where I am coming from. This blog is not a judgement but a reminder of the right decisions I have made in my life, in spite of, the trauma and disobedience that I have chosen time after time. It is a reminder to remain humble and that we ALL are in a room full of sinners. It is wisdom, transformation and understanding that we are acknowledging Gods way as the right way. Through my sin and backsliding I realize that I need God more than ever and only he can deliver me from hiding in the supply closet. In I Samuel 10:22 it says" So they inquired further of the Lord, "Has the man come here yet?" And the Lord said, "Yes, he has hidden himself among the supplies." and I thought this was so funny and clever. No matter how you mask your sins God will use those things to glorify him. The Lord called him out just like the Lord is calling me out in my sin everyday as a reminder to surrender to him daily and get out of the FUN SPOT.
Just because you are a Christian, that does not mean that all of your suffering disappears. Its actually the opposite and Paul reminds us in Ephesians that we are saved through Gods grace as new creatures in Christ. I was living my life not baptized, not saved or covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. Now I sin and feel his conviction and he reminds me daily that I cannot do this life with out him. I am reminded to be lavished in his grace and to give thanks for all that he has done and is doing in my transformed life. In Ephesians 5:20 he says "giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" is a reminder that even in your backsliding and sin that you can PRAY! you whore.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
